Bedfordshire and Luton Employers Practitioner Event report: Alcohol and its impact on workplace productivity

This free practitioner event was designed to give employers an understanding of the business case for improving their approach to managing the impact alcohol has on employees in the workplace.

The event, delivered by Business in the Community in partnership with Bedfordshire and Luton's Public Health team was aimed at anyone in an organisation responsible for heatlh and wellbeing of staff, including but not limited to those with personnel or occupational health responsibilities.

Around 10 million men and women in England drink above the recommended guidelines and every day, around 200,000 people go to work in the UK with a hangover.

Up to 17 million working days are lost annually due to alcohol related absence.

Public health specialist Sarah Pacey spoke at the event and free resources were available.
