Birketts Solicitors & Mid Suffolk HOPS

Birketts has had an office in Ipswich since its formation by Benjamin Birkett in 1863. They also have offices in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Norwich. Throughout their history their ethos has remained simple: to provide clear legal advice and value and insight to their clients.

Birketts have long fostered and encouraged a direct involvement in local charitable and community groups, and members of the firm at all levels play an active role in the running of a large number of local charitable and voluntary organisations. Birketts are also members of the Norfolk and Cambridgeshire branches of the ProHelp Group.

Mid Suffolk HOPS is a specialist service providing daytime activities for children and young people with physical, sensory and severe learning difficulties, independence, social interaction and learning skills for everyday life; and supporting families in the care of vulnerable children. Their sister charity is AXIS which offers the came service to adults.

Both charities use the same premises, which, due to a change in circumstances, became subject to a new 3 year lease. With little knowledge of the Landlords and Tenants Act, Mid Suffolk HOPS and AXIS were in urgent need of legal assistance.

Having helped with the initial project concerning the lease, Stuart Raven continues to offer advice to the charities when needed.
