This invitation-only roundtable, supported by CDP, will bring together chief procurement officers to understand why climate action is everybody’s business.

About this climate action for chief procurement officers roundtable

Business in the Community’s (BITC) Challenge 2030 climate action campaign is calling on companies to develop and implement an inclusive strategy in collaboration with diverse stakeholders. The emissions from supply chains (Scope 3) often dwarf operational emissions (Scopes 1 and 2), so procurement leaders and their teams play a vital role in understanding and managing their supply chains to collaboratively drive down emissions.

This invitation-only roundtable is supported by CDP, a not-for-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. The event will bring together chief procurement officers to:

  • examine their role within the c-suite team in accelerating the net zero transition
  • identify common barriers and examples of best practice.

Insights from these sessions will be fed into BITC’s c-suite collateral to support members to develop ambitious climate action plans to be launched at COP26.

This virtual roundtable is by invitation only and is suitable for chief procurement officers, or other c-suite leaders with responsibility for managing supply chains.

BITC’s Challenge 2030 campaign

BITC’s Challenge 2030 campaign calls on businesses to put tackling the climate crisis at the heart of building back responsibly after COVID-19 so that we build the resilience of communities to future shocks and together make the climate crisis history.
