Conference: Driving Business Action to Meet the Sustainable Development Goals in the UK – London
Mon, 24 February 2020 @ 14:00 – 16:30
How is your business making the most of the Sustainable Development Goals to create business value and social value in the UK?
This event, organised by Business in the Community (BITC) and the government’s Inclusive Economy Partnership, will bring together companies from different industries – from large corporations to small- and medium-sized enterprises – that want to embed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, into their business strategies and work collaboratively to achieve greater impact.
In September 2015, the United Nations launched 17 SDGs to create a better world by 2030. Now only ten years away from the deadline, there has never been a greater need for business to step up to this challenge for our UK citizens.
Many businesses have committed to action, but the challenge at hand is too great and too urgent for them to achieve alone. Without greater engagement and collaborative working across our society, these targets will not be achieved in the UK.
About the event
At the event you will:
- hear from a cross-sector panel about their own experiences, challenges and successes of engaging with the SDGs in the UK
- discuss and debate approaches to tackling the SDGs with subject matter experts and other attendees
- learn from best practice examples of UK companies that see the SDGs as opportunities to create business value and social value, hand in hand
- obtain practical tools and resources to help apply learning and take immediate action in your business.
Light refreshments will be served during the day.
This event is aimed at senior sustainability practitioners.
