Essential skills are an often overlooked part of the solution to improving life chances in education and employment.

About the webinar
This webinar will offer delegates the opportunity to understand the social mobility landscape, including indicators that they can use to track socio-economic diversity in their organisations. It will also provide an opportunity to hear from two employers about how they have embedded the Skills Builder Universal Framework within their recruitment and learning and development programmes thereby enabling more people to have access to these opportunities.

This webinar is free of charge to both members and non-members of Business in the Community (BITC). It is predominantly aimed at HR/Community/CR professionals.

Essential Skills
The Skills Builder Universal Framework, developed by the Essential Skills Taskforce, provides a common language on skills from the classroom to the boardroom. Already being adopted by Boots, KPMG, Jacobs, and Tideway, it is a key tool for economic recovery from COVID-19.

The eight essential skills are listening, speaking, problem-solving, creativity, staying positive, aiming high, leadership, and teamwork. The skills cover communication, creative problem solving, self-management, and interpersonal skills.
