Business in the Community events and COVID-19

In light of the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19, Business in the Community (BITC) is refining its approach to events in the coming weeks. Many events will now be delivered via digital technology. Those events which do not lend themselves to remote delivery will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

BITC’s primary goal is to keep people safe so we have taken this decision based on the latest information available from the UK Government, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Public Health Agencies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as feedback from many of our members.

Please contact Events@bitc.org.uk for more information.

About the peer learning forum

This Peer Learning Forum is for employers that have an accelerated development programme and for those considering this as an option. The Peer Learning Forum will also be of interest to employers who would like to learn more about establishing development programmes that focus on black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) talent within their organisation. Employers that wish to discuss strategies for progress that work within organisations may also wish to attend.

The Race at Work 2018: The Scorecard Report survey found that 70 per cent of BAME employees said that progression was important to them; 43 per cent of BAME employees said that they would love to have a fast-track opportunity, yet only 10 per cent said that this was the case. There has been no movement on this data since 2015.

During this event there will also be time to discuss the roles of human resources, senior leaders, line managers and other stakeholders within the organisation who can contribute to a programme’s effectiveness.
