Business in the Community events and COVID-19
In light of the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19, Business in the Community (BITC) is refining its approach to events in the coming weeks. Many events will now be delivered via digital technology. Those events which do not lend themselves to remote delivery will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
BITC’s primary goal is to keep people safe so we have taken this decision based on the latest information available from the UK Government, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Public Health Agencies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as feedback from many of our members.
Please contact Events@bitc.org.uk for more information.
About the peer learning forum
Supported by The Royal Mail Group, this peer learning forum will focus on sleep and recovery.
Every year, 200,000 working days are lost in the UK due to insufficient sleep1 and one in every three people in the UK are affected by insomnia2.
We want to help those attending understand the importance of sleep quality and recovery to your employees. We will be going through our sleep and recovery toolkit (co-produced with Public Health England) and those attending can hear best practice from organisations who have done work in this area.
About the event
This peer learning forum will:
- help attendees understand the importance of sleep quality and recovery for employees
- provide an overview of the Business in the Community (BITC) Public Health England Sleep and Recovery Toolkit
- be a platform for to share any challenges and to hear best practice.
This event is for members of BITC with a wellbeing partnership only.
It is designed for:
- diversity and inclusion and human resources professionals
- anyone responsible for wellbeing within an organisation.
About peer learning forums
BITC’s peer learning forums provide a confidential environment to discuss common issues, good practice and solutions. There will be an emphasis on discussion and sharing experiences.
About BITC’s Wellbeing agenda
Business in the Community defines “wellbeing” as the mutually supportive relationship between an individual’s mental, physical, social and financial health and their personal wellbeing.
Taking a whole organisation approach to embedding wellbeing into an organisational culture is key to achieving maximum impact. Wellbeing should be positioned as a strategic boardroom issue supporting thriving people, thriving business and thriving communities.
