This is an in person event.

This event is by invitation only and for senior leaders including HR Directors and Chief People Officers and those with an interest in the discussion.

About the Event

In response to the recent update to the EHRC’s code of practice following the UK Supreme Court ruling, BITC is hosting an in-person, confidential, roundtable discussion for senior leaders in partnership with TLT LLP.

The session will be introduced by BITC, followed by an overview by TLT on the implications of the new code of practice and duties under the Equality Act 2010. This will be followed by a Q&A and broader discussion on the topic.

To foster an open and candid exchange, the discussion will follow Chatham House Rule.

This event offers a valuable opportunity for members to:

  • Share insights on how businesses are implementing the updated statutory code.
  • Explore relevant case law and discuss practical implications for inclusion.
  • Connect with peers on best practice and evolving approaches.

We hope you can join us for this important conversation.

Background

Since the UK Supreme Court ruling on 16 April 2025 in For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers, UK businesses have been awaiting further statutory guidance from the EHRC on the code of practice for services, public functions, and associations. Following the open consultation in May and June, which BITC contributed to with our members’ feedback, the new statutory provisions have now been published.

We acknowledge that implementing the new code of practice may present challenges for many of our members and requires careful consideration to ensure the safeguarding of inclusive workplaces. This roundtable provides an opportunity to share best practices and interpret relevant case law to support your organisational approach.

Light refreshments will be served.
