This virtual roundtable is the third in a series of four that will bring together businesses in South West England to explore opportunities for collaborative climate action.

About the roundtable
As we begin our path to recovery from the immense disruption caused by COVID-19 and move towards COP26, we have an unprecedented opportunity to Build Back Responsibly and for business to take climate action that creates positive outcomes for people and nature. We invite you to join Business in the Community’s (BITC) South West Leadership Board for a series of honest and thought-provoking roundtables on the journey towards net zero carbon for organisations and communities in the South West.

In this third of our series of regional roundtables, we will discuss opportunities for positive and inclusive climate action on transport and mobility. We will focus on opportunities to:

  • adopt sustainable and inclusive travel policies as employees return to workplaces.
  • support employees, customers and suppliers in making sustainable choices.
  • support community and place-based transport initiatives.

Participants will be invited to share regional good practice and innovation, and opportunities for collaboration, across different modes of transport. This will include discussions on clean air zones, active travel and the electrification of transport and will look at how regional innovation can support businesses in taking climate positive action.

Insights from the webinar will inform our South West Business Leaders Climate Change Roundtable taking place in September (more details to follow soon). Learnings and regional examples will also feed into BITC’s Climate Action campaign.
