AudienceOpen to BITC members and non-members
Thu, 08 October 2020 @ 10:00 – 11:40
This first Aberdeen Responsible Business Online Event will explore how the city is a place where all people can prosper.
About this Event
Your company is invited to attend our first online event for responsible businesses via Microsoft Teams. At this event we are seeking a joined-up approach to how we can ensure a prosperous future for all. There will be breakout sessions on Securing the future for children and young people and Nurturing our local communities. Attendees will hear from business leaders in the city and exemplars from elsewhere in the UK where similar approaches have been successful.
We look forward to working with those attending to improve outcomes for those who live, work, visit and do business in Aberdeen.
This event is open to Business in the Community (BITC) members and non-members.
The environment that businesses are operating within could hardly be more uncertain. From the COVID-19 pandemic, transition to net zero, investor pressure on social license to operate, to future workforce. Leaders are increasingly expected to respond to a myriad of priorities that might previously have been seen as non-core. Responsible business is moving into the mainstream. Aberdeen is fortunate to have an engaged business community that is proud of our city and routinely support causes across the economy. At a conference held in the city last year on Responsible Business, we heard about the power of the collective. In other words, how a coming together of businesses on shared goals could be transformational for our city.
Community Planning Aberdeen (CPA) is working in partnership with BITC to reach out to responsible businesses across Aberdeen who share our aspirations for better outcomes for people, families and communities. Community Planning Aberdeen (CPA) is the strategic partnership for public services in the city, working to deliver the Aberdeen City Local Outcome Improvement Plan. Our vision is of Aberdeen as a place where all people can prosper, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Full joining instructions will be sent before the event.
Following government advice on social distancing, all BITC events over the coming months will be delivered remotely via digital technology.
