Webinar: Business Leadership for a Resilient and Zero Carbon South West
AudienceOpen to BITC members and non-members
Tue, 11 August 2020 @ 10:00 – 11:30
Led by Business in the Community’s (BITC) South West Leadership Board, this webinar is the first in a series of events seeking to bring a clear business voice and call to action for a sustainable economy in the South West.
About the webinar
In this first webinar, participants will get the chance to understand climate change in the unique context of the South West and to explore ideas for a route map towards zero carbon.
- The Met Office will describe the risks presented by climate change and how it is already impacting the region.
- Business leaders from Costain, Bristol Airport, Viridor, Anthesis Consulting Group and Jacobs will share good practice, set out aspirations for regional sectors including aviation, the built environment and management of resources and waste, and reflect on the opportunities these bring for skills and employment.
Any companies, charities, government bodies based in the South West.
The COVID-19 global pandemic has seen unprecedented disruption to businesses, communities and many of the systems we rely on to live and work. As we begin to restart our economy, we have an equally unprecedented opportunity to build back better and tackle the climate crisis.
