Mobilising employee action is a driver to meeting net zero goals. Behavioural and culture change is needed to rapidly meet carbon reduction goals – employee engagement is essential to accelerate this. Good engagement can create opportunities for employees to connect with the ambitions of the organisation and creates the environment where employees are motivated and higher levels of engagement correlates with higher levels of innovation .
Bringing employees along on your net zero carbon journey is vital to meeting an organisation’s ambitions. Employees will play a key role in helping to shape the net zero carbon strategy and support with progressing against your immediate and long-term goals. This will ensure that it is embedded across the business.
By 2030 the UK needs to have delivered on its commitment to limit global warming to 1.5°C, something many consider only possible by achieving a net-zero carbon economy. It will be companies that see tackling climate change as part of future-proofing their business that prosper in this changing world.
