This online Nature-Based Solutions for the Climate Emergency event will launch the Ignition project’s first business facing report. This is a curation of the benefits that nature-based solutions provide to places, business and society.

This launch event will give attendees a first look at the report, present key findings and provide a platform to ask the project team questions.

  • Dr Rachel Morrison, Nature-Based Solutions Advisor, Greater Manchester Combined Authority
  • Sam Hartley, Environment Team Campaign Officer, Business in the Community (BITC)
  • Robert Winch, Sustainability Officer, UKGBC

This event is open to both members and non-members of BITC.

This event is targeted at built-environment professionals spanning the entire value chain who are looking to meet sustainability objectives through multifunctional solutions.

BITC is a partner on the €4.5m project that aims to develop innovative financing solutions for investment in Greater Manchester’s natural environment. This investment will help to build the city region’s ability to adapt to the increasingly extreme impacts of the climate emergency. As BITC works with our members to speed up and scale up the scope of business climate action through Challenge 2030, the Ignition project will provide vital resources to ensure nature-based solutions form a pillar of climate adaptation.

The report provides organisations with the data they need to make informed decisions about the types of urban nature-based solutions available to them and how these can help them to meet sustainability objectives.
