This webinar will introduce Business in the Community’s (BITC) Work Inspiration Toolkit and focus on the practical elements of preparing for a work experience placement or workplace visit. It will unpick the key stages involved and take you through the process of how to provide a real and inspiring taste of work.
It will explore the process involved with workplace visits, present a sample timetable. The webinar will conclude with a case study from ITV that examines how the organisation benefited from work experience and shares their top tips for successful placements.
There will be time to ask questions and hear from other delegates as to their challenges and the actions that can be taken to address them.
The session will also discuss:
- Practical steps such as how to create the right environment, gain internal buy-in, practical ways to find the right students and how to best work with schools or partner organisations.
- Why work inspiration is important.
- How to work with a diverse range of young people.
- What five elements make up work inspiration.
This webinar is designed to benefit people responsible for planning and delivering work experience placements. It is open to BITC members with a Community Partnership.
