SUMMARY:Championing Responsible Business across Scotland
DESCRIPTION:Join us to discuss how you can champion responsible business across Scotland.\n\n\nAudience\nOpen to all Business in the Community (BITC) members. This event is tailored to the senior leads across our membership. \n\n\nBackground\nWe will be bringing the membership in Scotland together for the first time to network and to re-energise the BITC community in Scotland and discuss how you can champion responsible business. \nAll our members do incredible activity within their organisations to improve social and environmental impact. This event will connect those senior leaders in Scotland to discuss how BITC members can create more impact together as a community. \n\n\nAbout the event\nThis event will showcase responsible business practice and build the knowledge and the role of the responsible business community in Scotland through your leadership. On the day we will discuss issues facing responsible businesses such as: \n\nThe need to deliver purpose-driven and responsible business strategies.\nPromoting social mobility by investing in your workforce and communities.\nProviding leadership to support Scotland’s transition to a net-zero future.\nManaging and supporting staff\, customers\, and communities through the cost-of-living crisis.\n\nBITC Scotland Leadership Board members will facilitate the sessions and will include discussions on Race at Work\, Inclusive Recruitment and Social Impact as well as strategic partnerships within the voluntary sector. We will share examples of the collective impact we have made together\, highlighting success stories and achievements. \nAdditionally\, we will explore avenues for further collaboration\, allowing members to share best practices\, exchange ideas\, and forge new partnerships that drive responsible business practices. \n\n\nKey speakers\nAlongside the BITC Scotland Leadership Board\, who will be leading\, chairing and facilitating\, we will also be joined by: \n\nNeil Gray MSP\, Cabinet Secretary for Wellbeing Economy\, Fair Work and Energy\n\n\nLynn Houmdi\, The Challenges Group\n\n About Business in the Community\nBusiness in the Community is the largest and longest-established movement dedicated to responsible business in the UK\, formed in 1982 and with HM The King as our Royal Founding Patron. DESCRIPTION:This is an online event. \nA Peer Learning Forum for those members with a Social Impact Advisory package to engage\, learn and discuss the difference between Social Impact and Social Value \n\n\n\nAudience\nThis event is for Business in the Community (BITC) members with a Social Impact Advisory membership package.  It has been designed for the following roles: \n\nCommunity investment/ Social value practitioners/managers\nCSR/Responsible Business/ ESG practitioners/managers\nHR/People/Talent management practitioners/managers\nHeads of Community investment/ Social value\n\n\n\nBackground\nThe BITC Social Impact Advisory membership package supports organisations in understanding the leading practice principles of social impact. It enables organisations to co-design solutions with their communities\, leading to sustainable impact within society and the business. \nOur thoughtful\, needs-led approach enables outputs and recommendations that are evidence-based and that help organisations understand what leading practice is and what action they can take to achieve that. \nAbout the event\n\n\nAs a follow-up to the successful BITC event “Social Impact vs Social Value: Who Wins?”\, we offer Social Impact Advisory members an opportunity to discuss this fascinating topic in more detail. \nUnderstanding how the Government-mandated reporting measures on Social Value can be integrated into current and future social impact programmes will streamline and develop community engagement. \nAt this Peer Learning Forum\, members will be encouraged to share leading practices\, discuss definitions\, and develop strategies for engaging internal stakeholders on this topic.
