SUMMARY:Powering Resilient Communities: Energy\, Water and Community Buildings
DESCRIPTION:Join us to explore the different ways for community organisations to reduce energy and water bills.\nThis is an in-person event.\n\n\nThis is an in-person event \nAudience\nCommunity leaders\, anyone who runs a community organisation with premises in Bradford\, the surrounding areas and across West Yorkshire. \n\n\nBackground\nBusiness in the Community (BITC) is a responsible business charity\, bringing together businesses and communities to create lasting positive impact for people in places. Our environment work seeks to build strong connections by solving the challenges of today and creating resilience by future proofing our communities\, leaders\, and systems. This Futureproof Communities Forum is the first in a series of three to be held this year across Bradford. It is a building block for community resilience in Bradford and beyond. \n\n\nAbout This event\nThis forum consists of workshops that will explore the different ways for community organisations to reduce their bills and protect themselves against future price rises. We will look at (i) what can be done to a building to make it cheaper to run\, (ii) how to engage staff and visitors to keep waste energy and water to a minimum\, (iii) how to understand your energy and water consumption\, and (iv) what funding to look out for to help. \nThe sessions will be interactive\, bringing together community leaders and industry experts to discuss the challenges you face. By the end of the forum\, you will have a clearer picture of what can be done to bring your running costs down. There will be time for lunch and networking so you can build new connections that will support you along the way. \n \n\n\nAgenda/outline of the event\n09:45 Arrival & registration \n10:30 Introduction \n10:50 Water scarcity & consumption \n11:15 Understanding & tracking energy use \n11:40 Break \n11:55 Building fabric improvements \n12:35 Engaging building users \n13:00 Lunch \n13:45Wrap up \n 14:00 End \n\n\nRefreshments\n\nThe event will include a networking lunch.\n\n\n\nBooking and contact details and further information\n\nContact for any further questions.\nFull joining instructions will be sent before the event.\n\nDates for your diary\n\nPowering Resilient Communities: Understanding Consumption and Bills – Wednesday 10th June\nPowering Resilient Communities: Sustainability Action Planning for Grant Funding Bids – TBC Autumn\n\nFind out how your organisation can become a member of Business in the Community
