DESCRIPTION:This webinar is for employers and wellbeing leads to introduce our new virtual befriending initiative to support carer’s wellbeing. \n\n\n\nAudience \n\n\n\nThis is a virtual event open to employers\, wellbeing leads and employee carer networks. \n\n\n\nBackground \n\n\n\nBusiness in the Community (BITC) and leading healthcare provider Simplyhealth\, have come together to co-create the Let’s Care Together programme. \n\n\n\nResearch shows that unpaid carers have worse wellbeing outcomes than non-carers\, and are likely to be time-poor due to their caring responsibilities*. The programme aims to support carers by streamlining access to resources and providing practical support across the four pillars of wellbeing: Physical\, Mental\, Social and Financial. The programme aims to support carers by streamlining access to resources and providing practical support across the four pillars of wellbeing: Physical\, Mental\, Social and Financial. BITC’s research has long-highlighted significant disparities\, such as a lower success rate for Black\, Asian\, and other minority ethnic candidates when applying for roles. This leads to candidates feeling less respected or not receive feedback\, which impacts their perception of fairness and limits their opportunities. Addressing these challenges requires systemic changes in recruitment practices to ensure transparency and fairness. We want to use this forum to explore businesses understanding of these challenges and enable change in organisations that is meaningful. \nBarriers to thriving: Once inside the workforce\, diverse employees often face challenges related to progression and retention. BITC’s Race at Work Charter calls on businesses to improve career progression for Black\, Asian\, and ethnically diverse employees. For instance\, 69% of ethnically diverse employees highlight the importance of career progression\, yet only 10% feel that they have the opportunities to progress within their organisations. This underlines the need for mentorship programs\, tailored development opportunities\, and policies that combat workplace discrimination. The programme aims to support carers by streamlining access to resources and providing practical support across the four pillars of wellbeing: Physical\, Mental\, Social and Financial. SUMMARY:Let's Care Together - Programme Introduction (for Employers)
DESCRIPTION:This webinar is for employers and wellbeing leads to introduce our new virtual befriending initiative to support carer’s wellbeing. \n\n\n\nAudience \n\n\n\nThis is a virtual event open to employers\, wellbeing leads and employee carer networks. \n\n\n\nBackground \n\n\n\nBusiness in the Community (BITC) and leading healthcare provider Simplyhealth\, have come together to co-create the Let’s Care Together programme. \n\n\n\nResearch shows that unpaid carers have worse wellbeing outcomes than non-carers\, and are likely to be time-poor due to their caring responsibilities*. The programme aims to support carers by streamlining access to resources and providing practical support across the four pillars of wellbeing: Physical\, Mental\, Social and Financial. This includes 1.6 million women and 757\,000 men\, highlighting that while anyone can be affected\, women remain disproportionately impacted.* \n•  75% of domestic violence victims report experiencing harassment at work from their abuser. This finding highlights the significant overlap between domestic abuse and workplace environments\, emphasising the need for awareness and support systems in workplaces.* \n•  Each year\, more than 75\,000 people in the UK are at high and imminent risk of being murdered or seriously injured as a result of domestic abuse.* \n•  2.5 years is the average time victims at high risk of serious harm or murder live with domestic abuse before getting help.* \nSupporting employees experiencing domestic abuse must therefore be a consideration for every responsible business.
