SUMMARY:PLF: What does good supplier engagement look like?
DESCRIPTION:Join us at our Peer Learning Forum\, where we will share information about the guidance for setting supplier engagement targets.\n\n\nThis is a virtual event. \nAudience\nAttendance is by invitation only. \n\n\nThe aims and objectives of the event\nJoin us at our Peer Learning Forum (PLF)\, where we will share information about the guidance for setting supplier engagement targets from SBTI\, CDP \, and GHG Protocol and attempt to distil this best practice into a common set of themes. We will also hear from Business in the Community (BITC) members who have started to implement supplier engagement programmes and what they have learnt along the way. \n\n\nFor many companies\, supply chain-related emissions are the largest source of emissions\, and the most challenging to reduce. Supply chain emissions are on average 11.4 times larger than direct emissions from operations and can account for over 90% of a companies carbon footprint. \nHowever\, despite progress in recent years to set net zero targets in line with legally binding commitments from the UK Government and devolved administrations\, most lag behind on the setting of supplier engagement targets to tackle emissions beyond Scopes 1 and 2. \nAccording to Anthesis Group\, over 1200 companies have set Science-Based Targets in the last few years\, yet just over 12% of those have set specific supplier engagement targets. \nSupplier engagement targets offer a tangible way to influence decarbonisation within your supply chain when specific emissions data is hard to obtain. These targets usually focus on engaging a defined set of suppliers to set their own science-based targets on all applicable scopes and categories\, as well as identifying what support\, upskilling and investment might be needed to help smaller suppliers. \n\n\nBooking\, contact details and further information\n\nContact Megan Gillett\, Events Coordinator at BITC for further information.\n\n\nFull joining instructions will be sent before the event.\n\nFind out how your organisation can become a member of Business in the Community

DESCRIPTION:Engage in a solution-based discussion surrounding the six catalysts of responsible business enabling you to take action within your organisation now!\n\n\nAbout the event \n\n\nNot enough progress has been made towards achieving the Global Goals\, also known as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. For these goals to be met\, businesses must play their role. \nBusiness in the Community works to accelerate responsible business action to address these goals. He understood that the power of the visits was not just in seeing and believing but also in how to turn that experience into ‘doing’. \nOver 25\,000 business leaders have taken part in visits\, each designed to show the unique contribution business can make when working in partnership with others on an issue or in a community. By thinking strategically about the implications for their business\, the visit gives a different understanding of the long-term impact and benefit that can be delivered for both business and communities. \n \nAbout The Prince’s Seeing is Believing Council\nOn behalf of HM The King The Prince’s Seeing is Believing Council is continuing to ensure that the values and the prestige of the programme are maintained and sustained. \nThe Council comprises influential and respected business leaders who have attended and led more than three visits and have been personal advocates for the programme’s power to drive action. \nCouncil members: \n\nChair: John Studzinski CBE\, Founder and Chairman of Genesis Foundation\, Managing Director & Vice Chairman of PIMCO \nAllan Leighton\, Chairman of The Co-operative Group\, Pizza Express\, Element\, Simba and BrewDog \nBob Wigley\, Chairman of UK Finance\, Vesta Global Holdings Ltd\, Vizolution Ltd and Bink Ltd \nCharles Allen\, Lord Allen of Kensington\, Chairman Global Media & Entertainment Limited\nChristine Hodgson CBE\, Chair\, Severn Trent Plc \nLord Mark Price\, Founder of WorkL and former government Minister of Trade \nSir Richard Lambert\, Chair\, Bloomsbury Publishing plc and Bradford Literature Festival \nDame Vivian Hunt\, Chief Innovation Officer\, UnitedHealth Group\nSir William Castell LVO\, FMedSci  \nZahra Bahrololoumi CBE\, Chief Executive Officer\, Salesforce UK & Ireland\n\n\n\nBooking and contact details and further information\n\nFor more information\, please contact the events team at Business in the Community\nFull joining instructions will be sent before the event.\n\nFind out how your organisation can become a member of Business in the Community \n\n\nThe ‘Seeing is Believing’ visits are made possible with generous support from Salesforce. \n\n
