SUMMARY:Peer Learning Forum: COP29 Outcomes - Impact and Insights
DESCRIPTION:Join us to explore the outcomes from COP29 and how this effects business going forward.\n\n\nThis is an online event. \nAudience\nOur Peer Learning Forums (PLF) are now open to all Business in the Community (BITC) members who have advisory in their membership package – hosted by our issue experts\, there are 20 forums a year\, covering a range of responsible business areas and enabling our members to discuss challenges\, solutions and ideas. \n\n\nAbout the event\nCOP29\, hosted by Azerbaijan from November 11–22 emphasises critical climate finance and emissions targets. The conference’s main goals are threefold: \n– limiting global warming to below 1.5°C \n– boosting international climate action and ambition \n– fostering inclusivity\, especially for vulnerable populations affected by climate change \nThe need for a New Collective Quantified Goal (NCQG) for climate finance is central\, with aims to expand funding commitments beyond the current $100 billion annual floor to better address the needs of developing countries. \nHigh-profile events on climate finance and investment (November 14) and a global summit on methane reduction and energy storage as well as gender equality\, biodiversity\, indigenous rights\, and urban climate resilience will all point towards further accelerated climate action. \nBut what will the implications of these high-level policy negotiations mean for responsible business? Join us as we run through the outcomes of the event and what they will mean for our members. \n\n\nBooking\, contact details and further information\n– Contact Annette Ettarh\, Event Manager\, BITC for any further questions. \n– Full joining instructions will be sent before the event. \nFind out how your organisation can become a member of Business in the Community
