SUMMARY:International Standards: how to respond
DESCRIPTION:This event forms part of a series covering the impact of new international standards. This event will provide a high level overview of the standards on overarching responsible business reporting (environmental\, social and governance). \n\n\n\nJoin the other event in the series\, International Standards – Sustainability reporting\, taking place on October 24. \n\n\n\nThis is an online event. \n\n\n\nAudience\n\n\n\nOpen to BITC members and non-members. This event has been designed to benefit Heads of Responsible Business. \n\n\n\nThe aims and objectives of the series of events\n\n\n\nThese events are a monthly opportunity to meet peers and learn from each other. \n\n\n\nBITC will convene Heads of Responsible Business\, or those who own and drive responsible business within their organisations\, to accelerate greener and fairer action together. Each month\, we will explore a different emerging trend or challenge facing our member businesses. We will facilitate discussions allowing you to meet peers\, navigate your barriers and accelerate responsible business. \n\n\n\nSave the time and date\n\n\n\nSave the time and date of 10-11:00 on the last Tuesday of every month\, to join these facilitated discussions. \n\n\n\nDetails of the November Share and Learn session will be published very soon. \n\n\n\nResponding to new international standards\n\n\n\nBusinesses are being subject to increased responsible business regulation\, requiring sophisticated approaches to responsible business activity. The introduction of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) in the European Union\, the global ISSB standard (International Sustainability Standards Board) as well as the Sustainability Disclosure Standards (SDS) in the UK\, creates an imperative for businesses to have an in-depth understanding of their social and environmental impacts and to demonstrate how they are being managed. \n\n\n\nJoin us for this Share & Learn session where we will be discussing the CSRD\, ISSB and SDS (which will adopt ISSB standards) and their implications for businesses’ approach and reporting of responsible business. \n\n\n\nThe session is applicable both for businesses affected by the legislation\, and those unaffected. BITC believes that all businesses should be complying with the standards so they are meeting best practice standards and are in a strong position to respond to future regulatory developments. \n\n\n\nThis event is aimed at responsible business practitioners and leaders alike\, and aims to equip individuals with intel from peers to inform internal stakeholders and prepare the organisation for the forthcoming requirements. We will provide the opportunity for attendees to join breakout rooms to hear from other businesses about how they are responding to the developments. \n\n\n\nQuestions to discuss in breakout rooms include the following: \n\n\n\n\nHow the business currently manages responsible business and what needs to change in order to become compliant?\n\n\n\nWhat departments need to be engaged in order to effectively manage this new approach to responsible business?\n\n\n\nWhat will this mean for responsible business ambitions?\n\n\n\nHow will this effect current approach to responsible business reporting?\n\n\n\n\nFuture Share and Learn Sessions\n\n\n\n\n28 November\n\n\n\n\nBooking and contact details and further information\n\n\n\nFor more information\, please contact Megan Gillett\, Events Coordinator at BITC.
