DESCRIPTION:Review UK employer equality progress via Race at Work Charter Survey questions\, best practices\, and a campaign preview.\n\n\nAudience\nThis event is open to Race Champions. \n\n\nAbout this event\nThis Champion Forum will preview a draft employees survey with YouGov and inform questions linked to workplace\, leadership and supplier diversity and inclusive procurement. You will hear from organisations demonstrating best practice. \nThis is an exciting phase of Business in the Community’s (BITC) race campaign’s work\, and we are keen to sense check this direction with our champion supporters. We will preview the Race Campaign’s strategic forward plan for 2024/2025. \nWith BITC Director for Race\, Sandra Kerr CBE\, this event will: \n\nPreview upcoming projects\n\n\nProvide feedback on strategic leadership and direction from the BITC Leadership Team\nProvide an exclusive preview of the Race Campaign’s forward plan\, where Champions will have the opportunity to shape the direction of the campaign.\n\n\n\nBusiness in the Community’s work on race equality\n\nBusiness in the Community (BITC) is working to ensure all employees feel they belong\, have a voice\, are valued and can be their true selves.\nFor more than 25 years\, BITC has been campaigning and helping organisations to ensure Black\, Asian\, Mixed Race and other ethnically diverse employees are represented at all levels.\nAll organisations want to recruit from the widest talent pool and help successful applicants progress. It is key to future productivity and performance. Black\, Asian\, Mixed Race and other ethnically diverse staff still encounter significant disparities in recruitment\, employment and progression*. The government-sponsored Race in the workplace: The McGregor-Smith Review found that greater progress and positive outcomes are needed to ensure all organisations benefit from the wealth of diverse talent. DESCRIPTION:Join us to find out why businesses should consider transitioning towards a culture of responsible innovation.\n\n\nThis is a virtual event. \nAudience\nOur peer learning forums are open to all members who have advisory in their membership package – hosted by our issue experts\, there are 20 forums a year\, covering a range of responsible business areas and enabling our members to discuss challenges\, solutions and ideas. \n\n\nAims and objectives of the event\nJoin us for this Peer Learning Forum (PLF) for BITC members receiving support on responsible business strategy & purpose. This event will share learnings from our most recent toolkit ‘How to Innovate Responsible Business Models‘\, from the 6 catalysts of responsible business on the subject of innovative business models. It will make the case for why businesses should consider transitioning towards a culture of responsible innovation and more sustainable business models. \nResponsible innovation allows businesses to maintain competitive advantage\, and increase long-term resilience. The British Standards Institution reports benefits such as long-term cost and risk reductions\, improvement of societal trust in the company and maintenance of social license to operate\, as well as greater attractiveness as an employer\, better supply chain relationships and improved capacity for long-term planning and sustainability.* \nIn addition to exploring the benefits of adopting an innovative approach\, we will also be sharing BITC’s Responsible Innovation Framework\, which organisations can use to begin developing a culture of responsible innovation. The framework includes the following principles: \n\nBeing purpose-led\nStakeholder centricity\nRisk mitigation and opportunity spotting\nThrough-life impact\nTransparency\n\nWe will be sharing examples of organisations who have started to transition their business to more sustainable models\, and will be discussing the potential for transformation within the businesses represented at the session.  \n\n\nAbout Business in the Community’s Peer Learning Forums\nBITC’s Peer Learning Forums provide a confidential environment to discuss common issues\, solutions\, and good practice. It is designed for business and community leaders based in and around Bradford. \n\n\nBackground\nHaving won the bid for the UK City of Culture 2025\, the scene is set for Bradford to capitalise on its cultural collateral. This unique opportunity will drive greater participation across the district and put arts\, entertainment and musical expression at the heart of all communities.
