SUMMARY:Inclusion and Wellbeing Champion Forum: Flex Forward UK
DESCRIPTION:Join us to participate in a dynamic discussion about the challenges and opportunities for workplace flexible working.\n\n\nAudience\nThis online event is open to Business in the Community (BITC) Gender\, Inclusion\, Race and Wellbeing Champions. \n\n\nAbout this event\nJoin BITC to explore what’s working and what’s breaking down in UK workplaces regarding flexible working. \nWe will be discussing flexible working in the context of fairness across life stages\, roles and demographics\, addressing the importance of transparency and clear criteria\, and learning about how to use data to track outcomes and evidence success. We will focus on both challenges and benefits\, considering how best to shift stigma and influence employers to embed flexible working for all into their operating models. \nThis Champion Forum will share expert-led evidence on flexible working policy and practice and provide space to discuss\, with other BITC Inclusion Champions\, the barriers to flexible working in practice and explore where flexibility can still be less accessible. We will also share details of recent changes in legislation\, including the new Employment Rights Act\, to ensure that you are fully up-to-date. Regardless of your sector\, operating model or maturity in this area\, we would love you to join us. \n\n\nThis event will…\n\nExplore how challenges to implementation and inconsistent flexible working practice are driving inequality across gender\, age and race\, and how flexible work can support your employees to shape inclusive work that works for them.\nLook at how to ensure changes to flexible working policy and practice reflect current legislative frameworks and are focused on equity\, wellbeing\, transparency and cultural evolution.\nFacilitate shared best practice learning and discussion to support implementation and evaluation of flexible working across your business.\n\n\n\nBITC’s work on Flexible Working\nDespite flexible working being increasingly important and valuable to employees\, it still carries a stigma associated with low pay\, low productivity and slow progression. Inconsistencies in access to flexible working are worsening gender\, disability\, low-income and role-type inequalities. In the BITC Gender Campaign’s flagship The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality listing\, flexible work remains one of the challenging areas for business progress. \nDrawing on research with our members\, and in collaboration with BITC member Standard Life Group\, our Inclusive Flexible Working Toolkit identifies the benefits of flexible working for both employers and employees\, and outlines practical steps employers can take to build inclusive\, flexible working cultures for all. \n\n\nAbout BITC’s Inclusion and Wellbeing Campaigns\nWe want to create an inclusive\, gender-equal working world where everyone\, regardless of gender\, race or age\, can flourish. \nOur Gender Equality Campaign exists to accelerate this progress towards a gender-equal future and encourage UK business to unlock the value of gender equality for all. We believe that UK businesses have the power and responsibility to progress gender equality and stand firm in the ethic and economic importance of a workplace where all genders can thrive. \nBITC’s Wellbeing Campaign and BITC Workwell model positions thriving people at the heart of organisational purpose\, culture and business strategy\, providing a framework for an intersectional\, inclusive and people-first approach. \nTo support you\, our Advisory Services team can help you in planning and implementing action. \n \nBooking\, contact details and further information\n\nContact events@bitc.org.uk at BITC for further information.\n\n\nFull joining instructions will be sent before the event.

SUMMARY:The King's Seeing is Believing Visit in London - 2 July 2026
DESCRIPTION:This is an in-person event. Attendance by invitation only. \nAudience\n• C-suite/Senior leaders \n\n\nAbout this event\nLed by Andrew Masraf\, Global Senior Partner and Chair of the Board at Pinsent Masons\, The King’s Seeing is Believing visit in London will bring together senior business leaders to explore how businesses can support social mobility and create meaningful employment opportunities for young people. \nThis visit is part of Business in the Community’s The King’s Seeing is Believing programme\, giving participants first-hand insight into how employer engagement and early intervention in schools can prevent young people from becoming NEET (not in education\, employment\, or training). As part of a series focusing on youth employment\, the visit aims to mobilise action across the UK through BITC’s Opening Doors campaign\, which brings organisations together to share learning\, shape inclusive recruitment\, and create opportunities for those furthest from the labour market. \nAcross the UK\, nearly one million young people aged 16–24 are currently NEET. Research shows that four or more meaningful employer interactions can dramatically reduce the risk of unemployment. The barriers these young people face are often not ability or ambition but access: to advice\, role models\, workplaces\, and the confidence that comes from being welcomed through the door. Business involvement matters—not just for young people’s futures\, but for the health of our economy and communities. \nDuring the visit\, participants will hear directly from young people\, educators\, and community partners. The programme will focus on how sustained engagement—from early exposure in schools to mentoring\, internships\, and collaborative programmes—can create clearer and more inclusive pathways into work. \n  \nAbout The King’s Seeing is Believing programme \nThe King’s Seeing is Believing programme was established by the then Prince of Wales in 1990. The programme\, supported by Salesforce and Linklaters LLP\, was born from a simple but powerful belief that the best way to close the gap between the boardroom and the community was to take business leaders out to the communities and\, through the power of experiential learning\, to inspire and challenge participants. The visits are designed to encourage business leaders to think strategically about the implications for their own businesses and the practical actions that can be taken in response\, leading to meaningful and sustained impact for both businesses and communities. To date\, over 25\,000 business leaders have taken part in the Seeing is Believing programme which has led to many initiatives being set up including Career Ready\, Ban the Box and mentoring circles in collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions \n\n\nBooking and contact details and further information\n\nFor further information\, please reach out to The King’s Seeing is Believing team (SIB@bitc.org.uk)\nFull joining instructions will be sent before the event.\n\nFind out how your organisation can become a member of Business in the Community
