John Haynes, completed a degree in maths and physics at Durham University in 2004. He went on to train and qualify as a chartered accountant, working for a FTSE 250 UK construction company (Balfour Beatty). John worked on large-scale education, healthcare and infrastructure PFI/PPP projects.
Between 2013 and 2016 John worked for ENGIE, a multinational energy and services and regeneration company, in the role of Business Development Director, leading large-scale service transformation and renewable energy projects in the public and regulated sectors across the UK.
In 2017 John was appointed to the post of Partnership Director for ENGIE’s 15-year business partnership with North Tyneside Council (NTC), providing services to NTC including those involving finance, human resources, information and communication technology, customer services, revenue collection and housing benefits payments, procurement and health and safety.
Also a board member, representing industry at the Career College North East John is passionate about the role that business can play to improve the quality of people lives, and stimulate and support greater prosperity for everyone that lives, works and visits the north east. He is also Chair of Governors at Monkseaton Middle School
