Your Membership Plan

When you join Business in the Community (BITC) you will be given a dedicated relationship manager who will work closely with you to understand the scale of your ambition. Using BITC’s unique tools we will help you to measure your performance as a responsible business.
Your relationship manager will then work with you to develop a membership plan to ensure you receive maximum value for your investment. This plan has three components; membership, engagement and leadership.
Membership is designed to provide initial value in being a member of BITC, recognising that everyone is at different stages in their business journey and has different ability to engage.
Main benefits include access to your own relationship manager, The Responsible Business Tracker® and full access to a wide selection of events, webinars and networking opportunities and access to exclusive content in our members-only area on our website (launching Autumn 2019).

As part of membership, you will have access to one core partnership, more are available for an extra cost and this can be discussed with your relationship manager. Core partnerships are in specific issue areas, including diversity and inclusion, wellbeing, community and environment. Your relationship manager will advise you on the most appropriate one for your business’ needs and ambitions. 
These core partnerships provide a comprehensive suite of benefits including: a dedicated adviser who is a specialist in that issue area, expert advice, training and research, learning and events, direct access to peers and networking, support with entering relevant award categories and range of advisory products and services.
Partnerships are available at core and champion levels. Champions receive extended support, preferential sponsorship, profiling opportunities, and access to exclusive champion events.
The diversity and inclusion partnerships (age, gender and race) include access to Diversity Intelligence a performance management diagnostic, offering organisations an in-depth assessment of diversity and inclusivity in workplaces. It is designed to help you understand where you are doing well, where you can improve and how BITC can help you improve and make a real impact. It is currently only available for diversity and inclusion but will be rolled out to other areas over the next 12 months.
As well as issue focussed partnerships we offer two partnerships designed to help you plan and embed responsible business principles throughout your organisation. Our Strategy and Purpose partnership will help you identify areas of focus and create plans for the future. Our Responsible Business Management Training will give you access to expert-led learning programmes.

This is for members seeking to work with BITC to demonstrate leadership and drive impact across an issue over a multi-year period.
These are a bespoke offer and may include a place on one of our issue- specific Leadership Teams, participation in Taskforces, leading or participating in a Prince’s Seeing is Believing visit, sponsorship of research and campaigning, hosting and networking, or taking our platforms and channels to act as an advocate for responsible business.
Leadership offers enable enhanced influence over local, regional and national policymaking, organisational profile, contribution to thought leadership and networking with other senior leaders.

The cost of membership depends on the size and turnover of your organisation and how many opportunities you wish to access. Our membership team are available to discuss this further with you.
