BITC Cymru responds to the publication of Education in Wales: Our national mission

Responding to the publication of Education in Wales: Our national mission from the Welsh Government, Matt Appleby (Director, Business in the Community Cymru) said: “Business in the Community (BITC) Cymru works with companies of all sizes and sectors to help build a Wales where everyone can succeed, regardless of their social or economic background."

“The world of work is changing at a staggering pace. Employers, along with schools and young people, must adapt and prepare so that our country can continue to compete in an increasingly global and connected world. BITC Cymru is therefore pleased to see a commitment to collaboration embedded in the new national education mission document.

“BITC Cymru looks forward to working closely with the Cabinet Secretary and her team to build strong, sustainable partnerships between schools, colleges and employers. This is something which BITC’s Business Class programme has been delivering in Wales since 2014. Now in every local authority area in Wales, Business Class brings the world of work directly into the classroom, to share skills, knowledge and experience between the education and private sectors.

“Engaging with education is a business issue and BITC Cymru is ready to bring the power and potential of the Prince’s Responsible Business Network in Wales to bear, to help achieve a fairer, more sustainable and prosperous Wales.”
