Employers of all sizes asked to share how they are addressing race diversity

Best Employers for Race 2018 Survey opened for entries

Business in the Community (BITC) are urging employers to demonstrate their commitment to the recruitment, progression and inclusion of black and minority ethnic (BAME) people in the workplace by completing this year’s Best Employers for Race Survey.

By identifying the best employers in the UK for race diversity and equality, BITC are aiming to showcase businesses at their best and spur on other employers to improve diversity and inclusion in their organisations.

The 2017 list saw 66 organisations make the 2017 Best Employers for Race listing. All demonstrated they were taking a pro-active approach to tackling racial inequalities in their organisations through addressing persistent barriers to ethnic minority recruitment and progression.

Sandra Kerr OBE, Race Equality Director, Business in the Community, said: “We were glad to have a positive response to the Best Employers for Race listing pilot six months after the McGregor-Smith review of race in the workplace was published, and are delighted to be running the listing again in 2018. Now we want to make the listing even bigger, I would strongly encourage all employers who are tackling race inequality within their organisations to enter this year. We are also keen to hear from small businesses, and would ask large employers to share details of the listing with their supply chain organisations. If employers truly want their organisations to reflect the clients, communities and customers they serve at every step of the way, now is the time to showcase the action they are taking.”

The Best Employers for Race List 2018 is open to all employers, irrespective of size or sector and free to enter with no hidden costs. The survey consists of a short question set and the submission of a case study via one quick and easy entry process. Application can be combined with entering the Business in the Community Race Equality Awards 2018.

Full details of how to enter are available on the Business in the Community website.

The entry process is open until Wednesday, 2nd May 2018 and the successful organisations will be announced in September 2018.
