Hitachi adopts Group Human Rights policy

IT and technology company Hitachi has announced the adoption of a Group Human Rights Policy in line with the UN's Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

The policy commits Hitachi to developing ongoing human rights due diligence processes with respect to the impacts its business operations and relationships have on human rights.

This will include identifying and assessing negative impacts on human rights and then preventing or mitigating them, as well as accounting for and communicating results.

Hitachi's aim is now to embed respect for human rights in its corporate management worldwide, supporting the realisation of a sustainable society.
