“ It was a fantastic opportunity for us to be involved in such a worthwhile event that inspires the next generation and raises awareness of the full range of opportunities within our companies. ”
Pupils were also offered the opportunity to take part in a ‘Speed Networking’ session, asking employees questions about their workplace, the type of jobs available, career paths and qualifications required.
Jeremy Garner Deputy Head at Therfield School said “It was fantastic that the businesses within this innovative collaborative “Hub” were so willing to attend and I am grateful to Business in the Community for designing and running the event. The students really benefitted from the experience and particularly enjoyed questioning the business representatives about their roles and engaging with the activities on each of the stands.”
The Careers Carousel forms part of a wider programme of activities at the school supported by Hub partners with future interventions including: a Dragons Den style activity, Business Games Challenge Day, and an Employability Skills Workshop.
