Michael Anderson is the Director of Projects for West Midlands Metro, at TfWM, the Transport Authority for the West Midlands. He is responsible for the delivery of the West Midlands 10 year investment programme for the Midland Metro network. As part of this role, Michael is the Authority’s representative on the Leadership Team of the Midland Metro Alliance which is the delivery partner for Metro projects, incorporating the TfWM, design, and construction partners.
Michael joined TfWM in June 2019 from Alstom Transport where he had worked for 22 years.
At Alstom Michael held a number of roles both in Business Development, Sales and Projects delivery internationally, including ten years at the head office in Paris. In the UK he led the delivery of Alstom’s scope for the Nottingham Express Transit tram extensions and was involved in setting up joint ventures for the delivery of infrastructure projects in UK.
As part of TfWM and MMA commitment to involvement in the community where they are delivering schemes, Michael was introduced to Business in the Community (BITC) when organising Community Conversations to bring organisations together. This has inspired him to take a wider role within BITC.
