We know that 31% of the West of England LEP area have at least one hard to fill vacancy. Many businesses also struggle to recruit young people, with only 33% of employers in the area having hired an education leaver in the last three years. With youth unemployment at 6.2%, which is more than the national unemployment rate, there is untapped talent that businesses can utilise to help fill some of the skills gap and bring diversity within the workforce.
