Olivia Bailey is Responsible Business Programme Coordinator at Burger King UK. She manages the implementation, monitoring and reporting of sustainability initiatives, engaging with head office and 500+ restaurant teams to achieve positive impacts.
Previously, Olivia worked as Communications Officer at Fauna & Flora International, for four years, supporting conservation projects in over 50 countries. Her role included raising public awareness about key environmental issues and engaging with policymakers and corporates. She worked on a wide range of projects – from supporting a campaign which helped bring about the UK ban on microbeads in rinse-off cosmetics, to a project working with small-scale farmers in Nicaragua to adopt climate-smart farming techniques.
Olivia has a Distinction in MSc Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, where she specialised in Business and the Environment. As part of her masters, Olivia conducted a research project analysing the environmental impacts and nutritional content of plant-based proteins and the role of food businesses in shifting consumer diets.
Olivia also has a BSc Zoology from the University of Reading where she studied the impact of agricultural-land conversion on bird diversity and abundance in Madagascar.
Olivia is passionate about empowering partnerships through organisations such as Business in the Community (BITC) and is encouraged by the potential positive impact of the Future Leaders Board. She believes it is only through collaboration that we can create a sustainable future for our planet.
