We currently run the RISE programme in Nottingham and offer advice and guidance for companies to develop their own in-house programmes for care leavers.

Through Ready for Work we learnt that care leavers often need extra support to gain and sustain employment. We have piloted activity that builds on our Ready for Work successes, enabling us and the businesses we work with to better support this particularly disadvantaged group.
During our pilot phase:
We have supported over 50 young people with the opportunity to build their skills and confidence on the RISE programme.
Over 40 young people have taken part in Behind the Scenes tours around local businesses to gain an insight into the world of work,
30 have taken part in pre-employment training with 72% moving into work placements.
67% of those who complete their placements move into employment, education, training or skills-based volunteering.
What we ask
We ask businesses to offer visits and taster sessions to care leavers to raise their awareness of the work opportunities in their local area.
We also ask companies to join our network of businesses supporting our national Get Ready! and Ready for Work programmes. These programmes, alongside the added support that we offer through RISE, help care leavers to gain and sustain employment.
