A local charity which manages a house, called The Bluebells, which opened in July 2011 and which provides care and support to young people and their families.
The charity provides practical support in many different forms to children battling with life-limiting illnesses, providing meaningful assistance at critical times to families exhausted by the stresses of hospital life and their child’s gruelling treatment. The charity supports families from across the South East, principally from Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, although they also welcome families from outside these areas.
The site has a garden which is well used by families but beyond this is an area in which they would like to create a woodland trail. The area of land has three raised islands and the vision is that there will be ramp entery onto the first island and a trail then moving through each island across two bridges onto the last island with a tree house.
Creative minds and hard work are required for this challenge. Volunteer support would be welcomed in undertaking all or part of this challenge. Creating a ramp at the entrance which will require wheelchair access would then allow for the creation of a path and susequent stages of the project to be undertaken.
This project would be ideal for a construction company or a business with access to construction materials through its supply chain.
