It now has 34 active members who are always willing to take on projects within their specialist field providing professional services, free of charge, to local charities, voluntary and community groups in the North Cambridgeshire area.
This year Peterborough ProHelp will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary and is aiming to achieve £1m worth of support since its launch. So far it has given in excess of 5,300 hours equating to almost £850,000 worth of support.
The Group has supported over 200 projects giving advice and guidance on:
Negotiating a lease and setting up a charity;
Helping with employment contracts, policies and procedures;
Setting up accountancy systems;
Health & Safety advice;
Drafting business, marketing, PR and communications plans;
Reviewing database systems and conducting strategic reviews;
Management training; and
Providing structural surveys or advising on architectural schemes.
These are just an example of the support that has been given and we are always looking for new members to join so that we can expand the services available.
Learning disability charity 49 Lincoln Road has set up an IT suite with computers donated by Peterborough ProHelp member Buckles Solicitors LLP.
