Isaac, 27, was working well at Reiss but after an argument with his family got out of hand he was arrested and given a suspended sentence. When his family kicked him out, he tried to keep his housing problems to himself and carry on working.
“ I am forever grateful to have had such a great experience – it gave me a massive confidence boost. ”
Without an income, Isaac struggled but he was eventually helped off the streets by All Soul’s Church who provided access to temporary accommodation and courses for Isaac to improve his situation. When he signed up to take part in Business in the Community’s Ready for Work programme he finally had the chance to move on.
Two days of training built up Isaac’s confidence ready for his work placement in Freshfield’s Paralegal Department.
“I loved the two days of training and I was so happy to have gone to Freshfields. I was really taken aback by how nice and how professional everyone was. Everyone was fantastic and offered me so much support. I am forever grateful to have had such a great experience – it gave me a massive confidence boost.”
After Isaac’s placement, his job coach, Karen, helped him to keep on track and apply for jobs. Now that he has found work at Burberry, she continues to support Isaac with financial management and career planning while he saves money to move out of his temporary accommodation.
“Karen reminds me of what my aims and objectives are and keeps me on track by providing support around those. She has also made me push myself to achieve what she thinks I am able to. Karen has also been really great at helping me maintain my motivation now that I have a job.”
