Dr. Alec Wersun is Senior Lecturer in Strategy and International Business at the Glasgow School for Business and Society (GSBS), where he works at the interface between academia and business.
His work in management education is informed by ten years living and working in Switzerland, the Balkans and the Russian Federation with American healthcare multinational Johnson & Johnson; five years leading implementation of EU, EBRD and Scottish Enterprise projects for sustainable socio-economic development in the Russian Federation; and five years working as private sector development advisor for the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) in the Russian Federation and the Balkans.
Alec leads GSBS participation in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and “Principles of Responsible Management Education” (PRME) initiatives, is a UK representative of the United Nations’ PRME ‘Champions Group”, and sits on the Steering Committee of the UK Chapter of PRME. He is a fervent advocate of responsible leadership and management, and believes in the huge potential of universities to cultivate leaders for the future that we all want.
