This report gives a summary of all Give & Gain Day 2013 activity across Wales, including statistics, quotes from participants and examples of the projects that were delivered.
Key findings
  • 687 business volunteers from 31 companies took part in Wales, supporting 23 community groups and schools.
  • Collectively, volunteers donated 4,718 hours of their time, equating to £77,600 in brokered support.
  • Around 13,750 people in Wales benefited from support from Give & Gain Day volunteers.
  • Almost 90% of volunteers said they felt more committed to their employer as a result of volunteering, while 97% said that it was important to them that their employer supported volunteering projects.
  • 80% of participants felt they had developed skills, and a further 70% felt these would be useful in a work context.

The report also includes key findings from a survey carried out among employees who participated in the Day on the impact it had on them, as well as an outline of business benefits, details of companies taking part in Wales and more.
