This Convention provided both the inspirational and the practical to ensure that delegates came away with information that is of direct relevance to their work at both a global level and a more local, more specific level.
We heard from a number of leading thinkers on their ‘Big Idea’ – how business can grasp the opportunity to create a sustainable future.
Some key pieces of research were launched at the Convention:
Encouraging consumers to be more sustainable is a necessary and increasingly important step to ensure we can all move towards creating a sustainable future. We launched BITC’s new research and sustainable marketing guide to help companies do just that.
We know companies are keen to assess the effectiveness of their community programmes. We believe the Community Footprint allows rigorous and consistent assessment of businesses’ social and economic impact to better judge the way in which their activities and investment impacts the communities they operate in.
BITC also worked with The Doughty Centre at Cranfield to examine the business benefits to make a clear and compelling case for responsible business.
The Responsible Business convention was the result of a partnership between Business in the Community and UBM.
