Northumbrian Water hones in on innovation to keep customers front and centre
Action and Impact
“In a fast-changing world, it has never been more important for businesses to look beyond their immediate performance and finances, and recognise the positive influence they can have on our communities, environment and wider society,” says Heidi Mottram, CEO of Northumbrian Water Group.
To this end, the business, which owns Northumbrian Water (one of 10 regulated water and sewerage businesses in England and Wales) is “constantly” looking at the environmental impact of its products and services. Its innovative Rainwise scheme is helping the company lead the charge for sustainable drainage and flood prevention, for example.
The business, which provides water and sewerage services to 2.7 million people in the North East of England, is also at the forefront of digital transformation which is central to its ambition to strengthen its reputation and lead the water industry for customer satisfaction. “Our award-winning schemes to reduce sewer flooding and help our customers save water are not only delivering environmental benefits, but are helping us to work more sustainably, protecting water supplies for the longer term,” says the company.
