The Prince’s Accounting For Sustainability Project

Accounting for Sustainability was set up by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2004.

Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) aims “To help ensure that sustainability – considering what we do not only in terms of ourselves and today, but also of others and tomorrow – is not just talked and worried about, but becomes embedded in organizations’ “DNA”.” HRH The Prince of Wales

A4S works with the businesses, investors, public sector, accounting bodies, NGOs, academics to build a sustainable, resilient economy. It works to:

  • Demonstrate business case for organizations to embed sustainability into their operations

  • Develop tools to build capacity for action

  • Create and enabling environment for change

A4S established the “International Integrated Reporting Council” (IIRC) in 2010

Published Practical Insights: Summary of case studies in embedding and supporting sustainability

Developed tailored training for Chief Financial Officers in collaboration with with the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (CPSL), through the inaugural CFO Leadership Seminar held in December 2013
