Sam White is Group Sustainability and Public Policy Director at Aviva plc. He is currently sharing this role with Will McDonald, which we believe is one of the most senior two-dad job shares in the UK.

Sam and Will were winners in the Timewise 2018 Power part time list and a member of Timewise Innovation Unit advisory board. Sam is passionate about climate sustainability and was proud to have launched Aviva’s 2040 Net Zero plan.  He is also active in the Living Wage Foundation and its global living wage campaign. From 2004-2010, Sam worked at the heart of UK Government as Special Adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP at the UK Treasury; and prior to that as adviser in the Department of Trade & Industry and Department of Transport. Sam began his career in various policy roles in Brussels and London, including for the Mayor of London (Greater London Authority) and for Scotland’s economic development agency (Scottish Enterprise). He has degrees from Oxford University and Bruges and two daughters.
