Give & Gain Day makes volunteering fun, accessible and inspirational – we want to make it something that all businesses give their staff an opportunity to do during working hours.
BITC Scotland runs projects throughout the year so get in touch if you are are interested in employee volunteering or see our employee volunteering page for more information.
There are three types of events available:
Managed events designed to be a turnkey ‘turn up on the day’ experience for volunteers
Brokered events where teams run their own event following a match and some basic training from BITC Scotland
DIY events where you arrange your own activity
Managed events are larger, collaborative events run for you by a BITC Scotland event manager, with all tools and equipment provided. There is no need to attend a team leader briefing and we handle all the preparations for the day. Volunteers just need to turn up, dressed appropriately for the activity, and with a packed lunch. You will likely be alongside volunteers from other companies.
A minimum booking of 10 places is required however these can be split across multiple events and locations. This is a good option for smaller companies or those unable to commit to taking on their own brokered event. To participate please e-mail Ailsa Cormie.
Once a company has chosen a brokered activity and appointed a team leader, then a site visit will be arranged by your local BITC Scotland contact. A team leader briefing will take place at the same time as the site visit. Team leaders are then responsible for planning, resourcing and running their event on Give & Gain Day. Brokered events allow a much deeper engagement with your community partner and the possibility of a longer term volunteering partnership if desired. A minimum booking of 10 places per event is required.
DIY / Arrange Your Own Activity
You can arrange your own Give & Gain Day activity with a local organisation or national charity you perhaps already have links with.
