Steven Holliday was Chief Executive of National Grid until April 2016 and a Non-Executive Director of Marks & Spencer from 2004 to 2014. He is Vice Chairman of Business in the Community, Chairman of Crisis, the homeless charity, and a director of the Careers & Enterprise Company. He is also a trustee of Step up to Serve, which was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales, and he was HRH’s national Ambassador 2014 to 2016.
As a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Steven is passionate about skills and STEM initiatives, and has driven this both inside BITC and across a number of other initiatives. Under Steve’s leadership, National Grid was BITC responsible business of the year in 2015.
Steve holds a BSc degree in Mining Engineering from Nottingham University and Honorary Doctorates from Nottingham University and Strathclyde University. His sporting interest include following the fortunes of the England rugby team. He is married with three children and lives in west London.
