Future Leaders Board

Tara Foy is Senior CSR (corporate social responsibility) Manager at BNP Paribas UK, a Heart of the City Ambassador and a Climate Reality Leader.

She started her career in finance as a Compliance Officer at J. P. Morgan, before taking a year long sabbatical to travel the world, starting by taking the train from St. Petersburg to Singapore. Her last role before joining BNP Paribas was picking courgettes on a farm in the Australian bush, but, soon enough, the dizzying heights of financial regulation called her back to London.

The transition from compliance to CSR was a natural one, as both disciplines have the ultimate goal of championing better, fairer business, and both work to stamp out the dreaded phrase “but we’ve always done it this way”.

She is an advocate for United Nation’s (UN) Global Goals, also known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS). SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions is her favourite. She is passionate about challenging injustice and championing inclusivity, believing that only if everyone is free, safe and empowered to live their best lives, can we come together to find solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.

She believes that business and industry have a key role to play in achieving the Global Goals, which are the best roadmap we have for a safe, sustainable, equitable and peaceful future. She has joined the Business in the Community (BITC) Future Leaders Board to engage with like-minded peers and organisations in the global effort to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Agenda.

She lives in Camden with her two cats, Teddy and Max, and 46 plants.
