Net Zero Carbon Beginners Guide
This Business in the Community (BITC) webinar is aimed to demonstrate to a wider set of business professionals, who sit outside the sustainability profession, the importance of climate change to the business and how and why they need to be engaged with it, so as to get the whole organisation behind significant carbon reduction targets.
It is easy to assume that because climate change is in the news so often, that everyone understands and is aware of the key issues. However, outside the sustainability community understanding of some of the business benefits and terminology surrounding climate change is less well understood.
We also know that for the UK to achieve a less than 2 degree economy all businesses need to be acting to significantly reduce their carbon. For business to achieve a step change their whole value chain and all their stakeholders need to be engaged. However, sometimes asking the basic questions may feel intimidating in a highly technical arena.
Make the Waste to Waste Commitment
On the 22nd November 2018, BITC convened The Waste to Wealth Summit. 200 leaders from business, government, academia and civil society committed to actions to collectively double resource productivity and reduce avoidable waste by 2030 (supercharging the UK Industrial Strategy’s 2050 targets) through creativity, collaboration and practical action.
