BITC Cymru's Associate Offer

Responsible business is about coming together to make a positive difference in schools, communities, workplaces and supply chains across Wales. Together we are winning work, developing skills, strengthening relationships, meeting commercial objectives, reducing our impact on the environment, increasing brand profile, recruiting talented new staff and showing Wales – and the world – that business is a force for good.

Many small companies in Wales are already acting responsibly; but often don’t have the time or resources to manage, measure, communicate and maximise the value of what they are doing.

Responsible business is for everyone and every business – of any size, scale or sector – that is why Business in the Community Cymru has created the Associate Offer.

Be part of our Network

Business in the Community Cymru – the Prince’s Responsible Business Network in Wales – is Wales’ only business network which convenes business around the potential the private sector has to make a positive difference to the economic, social and environmental challenges we face. At the same time companies are making connections, winning work and building relationships to support their longer-term growth and sustainability.

Business in the Community planterWork alongside us

Responsible business is for everyone and every business and in Wales BITC Cymru works with companies including: AF Blakemore & Sons, Arriva Trains Wales, Barclays Bank, BBC Cymru Wales, Bluestone Resorts, BT, Castell Howelll Foods, Castle Leisure, Costain Wales, Deloitte, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, Dolmans Solicitors, Eversheds, Finance Wales, John Lewis Partnership, Lloyds Banking Group, Intellectual Property Office, Legal & General, Moneypenny, MotoNovo Finance, Network Rail Cymru Wales, Principality Building Society, PwC Wales, Swansea University School of Management, Trivallis, Wales & West Utilities and the Welsh Government.

The challenge

With the introduction of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act in Wales, and the increasing requirement to be able to evidence the positive difference you are making in tenders and bids, you will need relationships across sectors and supply chains as well as the ability to evidence the impact you are making. A responsible business is one that not only makes the difference, but can maximise the commercial value of their actions.

Responsible business is for everyone

“Our Associate Offer makes access to the largest network of responsible companies in Wales accessible to more companies – companies which are just starting out and who have something to share with and learn from like-minded businesses. With networking opportunities, toolkits and case studies, Associates will be able to truly maximise the value of responsible business; bringing it to bear in tenders, bids and partnerships in the future.”Matt Appleby, Director, BITC Cymru

What does responsible business mean to you?

“Being part of Business in the Community has really helped us articulate what we do and what we’ve achieved. I would thoroughly recommend engaging with Business in the Community to any small business that is out there. Being a responsible business is more than just having a badge or a title and Business in the Community can really help you bring clarity to the work you are probably already doing.”Louise Batten, Commercial Director, Capital Network Solutions

“Building long lasting relationships with our customers, suppliers and staff has been key to our ability to continue to trade for the last 30 years. It also means building relationships with our community and where we can help out we do and we will. By working with Business in the Community we can get the tools, support and guidance to package up what we do, so we can gain a competitive edge when bidding for new work.”Rachel Morris, Business Development Manager, Carpets n Carpets

“Being a responsible business, for me, means that I’m looking at my surrounding community and seeing how I can add value to what they are doing with things I can contribute – my skills and experience. In my view, there are too many businesses who are just chasing the pound; which is stopping them doing everything that’s right. By working with BITC Cymru I get more opportunities to meet like-minded people and companies and build my networks and contacts of businesses that I – and my community – want to work with.”Paul Fears, Owner, Paul Fears Photography
