The National Flood Resilience Review

After last winter’s devastating floods, the government with support from BERG members have conducted this major review into the nation’s flood resilience. BERG will be taking the learning, recommendations and actions from this and incorporating them into our future work. A copy of the report is now available.

In the aftermath of Storm Desmond, the process of drying out and repairing properties begins in the north of England and Borders of Scotland. The following links may help speed recovery from the storm including insurance claims and getting doors open for business again:

Insurers have set out six key stages to help get those affected by flooding back into their homes and businesses as soon as possible.

Information on government grant applications for if your home is flooded.

The Chartered Institute of Loss Adjustors has detailed advice here if needing to make a claim.

B)Resilient is an initiative delivered in partnership with BERG and Barclays Bank Plc.  It has been developed to help small to medium sized businesses think about resilience in all that they deliver. 

Through a series of networking events across the UK, the initiative uses peer-to-peer experience sharing to focus on the importance of resilience and recovery planning for the SME community.
