Our asks of business

At our Emergency Community Summit in February we will be calling on business to:

  • partner with a school, by signing up to our flagship education programme Business Class, and
  • guarantee work placements for young people, though our apprenticeships and work experience programmes

Our goal is for every young person, particularly those facing social disadvantage, to receive support from business to build successful working lives.

Watch the video above on Business Class, which builds effective, sustainable partnerships between schools and
businesses to help young people develop the skills, aspirations and motivation they need to succeed in the world of work.

What we're working on...

  • Strategic partnerships with schools

Business Class, our flagship education programme, focuses on long-term sustainable partnerships between business and schools. The programme has been independently evaluated by Cass Business School to demonstrate impact.

  • Work experience

Leading companies recognise the need to be more involved in work experience, to build new talent and create a skilled and experienced talent pipeline. BITC's Work Inspiration programme provides a free employer tool-kit designed to improve work experience.

  • Mentoring

BITC provides a number of mentoring programmes for young people. Mentors with our Mosaic campaign, are paired with young Muslims aged 5 - 25 from deprived backgrounds, at primary and secondary school as well as supporting ex-offenders.

  • Education Leadership Team

Meet Business in the Community's Education Leadership Team, comprising individuals who represent organisations at the forefront of investment in education.

  • Influencing Policy

Find out more about current educational policy and what it means for education business engagement.

  • Showcasing Best Practice

Our events and case studies showcase a range of imaginative and impactful education programmes developed by leading businesses, large and small.
