What we do

Business in the Community is the Prince's Responsible Business Network. Our members work together to tackle a wide range of issues that are essential to creating a fairer society and a more sustainable future.

We are a business-led charity with more than 30 years' experience of mobilising business. We engage thousands of businesses through our programmes driven through a core membership of more than 800 organisations from small enterprises to global corporations.

Working together to take action.

We offer a range of practical ways for businesses to work together and take action to help tackle some of the key issues facing society.

Using our natural resources more sustainably.

Ensuring that age, gender, health and race do not limit an employee's engagement and success in the workplace.

Ensuring a young person's success at school and beyond is not determined by their social background.

Helping people overcome disadvantage by increasing access to sustainable, good employment

Creating jobs and vibrant communities by supporting small, local businesses.

Helping businesses get better.

We provide a wide range of services, practical guidance and creative solutions that help businesses review, improve, measure and report.

The Prince's Seeing is Believing Programme, Leadership Teams and networking

Our range of programmes offer business leaders the opportunity to debate, learn and witness first-hand key social and environmental issues and understand the vital role leadership has to play in driving change.

Practical guidance, research and training

Through our bespoke services we support companies to embed responsible practice and meet sustainability goals. We help companies achieve sustainable growth by integrating the delivery of positive social and environmental outcomes with their core purpose and vision.

Benchmarking services, management frameworks and responsible business indices

We offer a variety of benchmarking tools which help companies measure and report on responsible business in an integrated and systematic way.

Local, national and global community partnerships and volunteering opportunities

We ask every business to act responsibly wherever they operate or have impact. We champion their talent, skills and energy found in business and work with our partners to channel these to help communities prosper.

Programmes that address key social issues

We engage our members to work together to tackle key social issues. Our programmes are business-led and focus on the unique contribution business can make. We have a long track-record of achieving impact and of demonstrating value both to society and business. As a result we can share what we've learned and scale up what works well and help develop new programmes.

Awards and events for public recognition and peer learning

We help drive responsible business by recognising and showcasing innovation and best practice. BITC events are part of a continuous programme of engagement providing opportunities for collaboration with like-minded people.
