Social mobility in the workplace

Ethnically diverse individuals in the UK are both less likely to participate in and then less likely to progress through the workplace when compared with White individuals.

In the UK, a person’s social background limits their work opportunities. This is further compounded by factors such as race, gender, age, and location.3

The determinants of social mobility are complex. Our Inclusion and Social Impact Advisers support businesses to create the greatest impact based on their business model, industry, and products and services.

This training focuses on reviewing key drivers of social mobility within your organisation. Our advisers provide support with developing your strategic approaches to recruitment and progression, stakeholder engagement, outreach, and community impact. This includes targeted interventions that drive long-term, sustainable improvements.

We take an intersectional approach to advise our members on social mobility. Our Inclusion and Social Impact Advisers examine the connections between critical social issues, such as poverty, education inequality, and racial discrimination, and the skills held within your organisation.
